Hi, as a few of you on here may have spotted, I'm running an AU2 XR8 sedan here in the UK.
Anyway, the rubbish climate and salted roads over here have taken their toll on the rear wheel arches. I contacted Ford who can supply with me with an entire quarter panel which is great, but I only want arch repair sections due to shipping costs, which for some reason they can't do. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? Cheers Dave |

try a company called All Crash Parts
they supply asian aftermarket replacement parts. unsure if they do rust repair panels but they do supply heavily to the panel beating industry

Cheers for that Blackers, I had a look at their website. They seem to do mainly bumpers, glass and lights. No rust repair panels though..

Hi Mate
Never heard of rust repair panels for AU rear arches, pretty rare over here to see one that has rusted out there, your best option would be to arrange with someone to have a wrecker over here cut the part you need out of a dead one, If Gcg can't help you there I'd be happy to try and chase something down for you, Just drop me a PM |

Im thinking due to the young age of the car, rust repair sections wouldntbe needed. Putting a whole quarter one is a pain in the ***, but putting all new fresh metal on isnt a bad thing, as anywhere the cancer may have started to spread to will also be wiped out.

Yeah, normally getting the whole quarter wouldn't be an issue, just would rather post it back airmail, which would cost a ton, if it were just a repair section it would be quite do-able.
Surely some AU's must be getting a bit rusty, they have around for 10 years now... Thanks for the offer Umineko its much appreciated. |

I know it's not on topic (so sue me!).....
But what kind of reaction does the XR invoke there

They sold a few AU utes (badged at Verte Tempests) but any performance Oz Fords are personal imports... and rare as the proverbial.
I remember seeing a VY Executive, on wheel trims, for sale in a yard back home - why would you bring that boring thing into the country ? Also, recall seeing on ebay.co.uk an EF XR6 wagon (if that was the series) with faded red paint and rusted out arches and sills - and no MOT (RWC) Not sure what price it fetched. Without all the rust protection and underseal, the Oz cars don't stand a chance over there really, which is a shame.
