Default Diff Oil Recommendations (3.45 LSD)

Guys

while the ute is up in the air this weekend I am thinking about having a go at changing the diff oil, I have got some Royal Purple 75W90 gear oil on the shelf at work would it be ok to use? If not, suggestions on what is?

Penrite 85w/140 LSD oil and penrite additive to stop the cone chatter.

Wait though, is yours an LSD?

I used the Penrite "SIN" product in my diff, no additives though... Haven't had any cone chatter yet (though only been driven about 15km)

His is LSD but not IRS, therefore the stuff we use to fix ours doesn't apply to his.

Austin I'd just check what Ford recommend and then use something decent in that weight/spec.

So they are specced the same, 80 is what the IRS diff is supposed to have but 85 is what fixes the clunks.

The diff in both my AU's would whine alot so I took some advice from a number of people and settled on Redline heavy grade Shockproof 85 W 250 diff oil
It might create some drag as it is so thick but the whine stopped straight away and I've had no problems

Just to clarify, this is the one I'm looking at using:

http://royalpurple.com/gear-oil.html

Comes in 85w140 so it should do the job.
