Transporting car interstate

hi all,

I have a relli in Sydney wich is willing to give me thier kingswood for a cheap price, But the problem is that im in perth,

Im just wondering if anyone has had a viehicle transported on a truck to perth from sydney or the other way around. and could let me know who you went through, and the rough price you paid for this,

i hope that makes sence

i was enquiring on the net via a transport company (i forget which) and from adelaide to brisbane, door to door it cost $604 to transport a falcon. Based on that comparison i would say sydney to perth would have to be in the $1000 ballpark.

But this was just a rough quote, best to call around and find out i suppose.
If its gonna cost that much, may just be cheaper to drive if you have the time and the car is in decent working order . . .

Had a Landau coupe transported from Canberra to country WA a couple of years ago. From pickup at sellers place to delivery at mine cost about $1500. I used VIP to arrange it all and was very happy, they even kept me informed about its progress across Australia. You can find there number in mags like Just Cars or Unique cars.

I used VIP to move my car from Shepparton to Melbourne

All was fine except fo4r the fact that their driver drove the car from the depot to my place - something i wasnt informed about

For a freebie kingswood its not a bother - just a case of whether the transport costs are worth it!!!!!!

A lot of guys here have horror stories about VIP though...there was one bloke who had major damage done to his front bar on an EL GT :(

Yep to give you an idea it cost $1200 to frieght an Echo from Sydney to Darwin...

We are sending a car from Perth to Adelaide at the end of the month, costing us $320. Driving the other car across from Perth and partner in crime will jump in the other car in Adelaide and drive the last stretch in convoy. The Perth to Adelaide is the long leg, the Adelaide to Melbourne or Sydney leg is a one stop for fuel journey and no hassle. It is just getting across that 2500km from Perth to Adelaide that is painful, and putting it on the train at only $320 is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than driving it.
