Mate, T1 TE50 came out with cloth.
TS50 came out with leather in that funny colour - can not remember the name (wish I had it)
Lots of pics of T1s at tseries.info

T2 - TE50 came out with with black or option 2 tone (black/blue or black red)
T2 - TS50 came out with warm charcol (I should know) or that other funny colour.

Also the TS50 T1 and T2 came out with a different seat frame.
(I have excluded TL50)

Aubergine leather is the other option on T1/2 TS50's NCO, NA on T1/2 TE50.

And what quality pews they are.

Seat frame is lower,
Leather is soft yet is very hard-wearing,
Lower base is electric powered and
Upper has the best back support (until B-series GT-P spec that is)

The only downside is that the T3 TS missed out on them!

If i was in your postion Polyal I'd be going a T1T2TS no worries compared to XR8.
Why, I love my cabin space with the most appointments, (though my TST3 doesn't have all compared to T1T2 but it is better than the XR8 having owned a XR8S111 before).
Resale value if thats in your criteria.
Good luck with your decision.

I'm heavily biased but IMO T-series wins hands down. No contest. Added to which I'm a big fan of the T1, it is a bit more luxurious than the later models. All they lack is a few more kw, which is also easily rectified.

For mine the T wins hands down, especially TS. There's some amazing bargains to be had, there's a silver TE50 for sale in Tasmania for 13k. Looks to be in good nick too, if we were six months down the track I'd be flying down to look at it.

The next question is, series 1 or series 2? I know series 2 didn't have Premium brakes as standard, but is there any other 'downside' to the T2 compared to the T1?

Hey.

All depends on $$ at the end of the day, and how quickly the ute goes; unless your looking at trading.

I am talking with a couple of people regarding TE's, but XR8s are still not out of the question.
