So, i have bought a flash tuner off KPM (currently doing a $460 group buy, loaded with 3 generic tunes!)
I read through a couple of threads in the AU forums about the flash tuners, most comments were positive, a couple sid they noticed no 'real' difference, but a lot of people said it was the best BFYB mod to do. A question or two: 1. My car has been running on 98 RON for the last 18 months, don't really wanna change it, cuz i ran it on 95 RON once, and i could really tell the difference (It was the first time i had used Caltex, when V-Power went bye-bye, and i thought Vortex was their 98, until i was conversing with a friend commenting on how crappy Caltex's 98 is, then he said vortex is their 95 and vortex 98 is their 98 could just have gotten a bad dose of fuel?), well back to the point. A lot of people said the 98 RON tune sucks balls and the 95 Valet tune is great! Any further comments? 2. I am also getting a cam upgrade soon ( if his supplier gets the damn grind right this time! ), I told my mechanic i would be his guinea pig to see if his stg2 AU profile can run on the standard ECU... If i flash in a tune, i can flash it back to standard can't I? 3. If i do other little mods (recently bought a pod and going to fit during hols with 3" intake) will i need to 'reflash' the same tune in? or will it adjust?

1. If your going to be using 98RON fuel than use the 98octane tune as its best suited to the fuel that you will be running.
2.Yes you can. The tuner will come with 4 tunes. 1 Valet tune (Cant rev the car past 3000rpm) 2. 95Octane tune 3. 98Octane tune 4. Standard Tune (This will restore the factory settings to the ECU) 3. Your ECU will adjust to minor mods over time. There is no need to flash it again. When you do major mods Eg. Camshaft, Forced Induction,etc. then you will need to get a custom tune. Enjoy. You should notice a nice difference over the standard tune.
