Help!!

Got my clutch problem fixed for about 30 mins yesterday and all was running smoothly until I had to move the car 30mins after I picked it up. Drove home perfectly. When I started it, it made a squealing noise. It sounded like a belt or something similar, then I put my foot on the clutch and the car nearly stalled!! For the car to run without the noise I have to put my foot under the clutch pedal and lift it up!! I managed to drive it to the mechanic to have a look at today, but thought I would check here for any help in the meantime.
Just when I thought I got out of it cheaply and easily.....

Sounds like someone forgot to tighten something up properly! Hopefully the mechanic will sort it out, but that does sound a bit weird...

Sounds like the pressure plate/clutch plate has a fault, or something is adjusted too far. Sometimes happens with clutch cable set ups, when they are adjusted it all works for a few days (or minutes) but if there is next to no lining left on the clutch plate, it will wear out and then funny stuff starts to happen, like you cant get reverse without turning the car off or the pedal is just off the floor. What sort of car is it and what sort of system is it? Hyd or cable?

Just had word from the mechanic. The throw out bearing has ceased and the clutch fork is goneski.
Now the search begins as the parts are not available from Ford. Anyone know of somewhere in Brisbane that would have these parts and don't charge an arm and a leg??

i no it dosnt help at the moment but find your self a parts car it the best thing to do in my apinyon, you said you couldnt get parts for it prom ford wat about after market hope this helps

Unfortunately, to get a donor car the wife would have to go to make room!! In fact if I bought another car I would have to sleep in it cause she'd kick me out!!

Yep, Yesterford are pretty good on availability and price. I use them all the time.

You're a good man Kermit. They have everything I need or know where to get it!!! Would highly recommend them to anyone that needs parts that are difficult to find. Actually quite cheap too, suprisingly and extrememly helpful, even to the non-machanically minded!!
