LEAVE THE KEY ON FOR A FEW HOURS.. oops caps.. It locks you out exponentially per wrong code

ie 1min for one
5 min for 2 wrong attempts
3 days for 10 wrong attempts

So be patient, it might take a while :P

When "CODE" comes up enter the right number

Turn ignition to "On" position, and leave car for approx 40 mins to one hour. After this time, Code will replace "Err" and you will be able to enter the PIN. Make sure the car is in a locked up location (like garage) while you are doing this, as you must leave the keys in the ignition, in the On position for the whole 40 mins or so.

People on here work for Ford, people are smart and figure it out or just by word of mouth. AFF is a great resource and you get to meet new people.

It's in the owners manual - or maybe in the Haynes workshop manual I have. One or the other.

I've got an old EF with 200,000 on it so I don't do regular services on her but I'd love to know how to get rid of that annoying little spanner.

um, hold the trip button in WHILST starting the car, then hold it in for a few seconds longer and it will go away.

thats how the au is anyway, not sure if it applies to the ef as well though.

Default need my code

I bought the car secondhand from the dealership. It is not the same dealership that sold the car new. Which dealership should I contact to get the code? Or can I just call FORD CRC?

Any dealer will do - the code is stored with the VIN on the Ford computers - you will just need to provide proof of ownership (rego papers should do).

With your spanner on the dash switch ignition to acc and hold in trip computer button for approx 20-30 seconds and bingo it should be gone.

PS if anyone dosn't know there code for the radio 9/10 ive pulled out the code has been written on the top on a little ford sticker. Kind of defeats the purpose i know but hey I've pulled out a few and most have had the code on them.
