Default Advice on price of a BA Mk 2 Futura

Have found a BA MK 2 Futura at a dealership and am wondering what people think of the price. Details are:

Colour - Mercury Silver
Build - 9/2005
Km's - 30,000
Price - $22,800 driveaway
Rego - 12 months

Comments appreciated.

Cheers,

Andrew

I think it's too expensive in my opinion. If you check the auctions you could find one for less.

With only 30k on the clock though its not bad drive away but it is getting into the high side. XR models priced way better, auctions as said heaps cheaper, private way cheaper. Dont forget this would be a ex 'something' car ie telstra or fleet which is good and bad. Always serviced at all intervals but could have been treated like poo.

Thanks for the opions everyone.

I have had a look at the auction sites (mainly there fixed price stuff) and the quality to me looks a bit ordinary. I am not in a position at the moment to attend auctions during the working week so that rules it out for me.

Have also had a look at a few private and the problem there is that the average private seller can't understand that there cars are not worth what they are asking. Drove the Futura in question today and while it drove great and is a neat car, there was just something that didn't feel quite right about it. Will keep looking I guess.

Cheers,

Andrew

I will say that 30,000 kms for 22k isn't bad.

At Fowles Auction Group, most cars had around 60,000kms on the Odo, so it isn't totally crap.

However, if you do go for an auction car, check everywhere, and take a magnet.

To bad your Furtura is in Perth, I would be interested. The other thing to take into acount when looking at the auctions is that tranfer fees and stamp duty need to be paid on top. The car I am looking at will have a full 12 months rego and the tranfer and stamp duty included in the price.

Ron, I have heard a lot of stories on forums like yours. I wonder if it is worth having a dedicated for sale section for people trading cars in? But sometimes I guess it is all about the change over figure.....

Way to expensive for a BA Mk II, I would expect a bf with the 6 speed auto for that money. (that would be xt not futura)

Remember even at 22k the dealer would be making a fair margin on it so you should investigate some auctions...Fowles/Pickles...see what an equivalent is going for there.
