Saw this on flEbay, don't get me wrong, damned nice car but he reckons Shannons say it worth 50k.???? Mmmm
We should run a book and see who gets closest to what it goes for. I reckon it'll get passed in, no bids, but good luck to him I hope he gets what he wants, I like it. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....5729&rd=1&rd=1 :

To me these arent that special, and considering its not finished and the way the description reads to me is the running gear is stock (rundown) and would need a total freshen up I think its too expensive by half.. |

I'm always suss about any "supposedly unique" car advertised on eBay instead of the usual places where such cars are usually advertised.
And even further suss when text doesn't match pics.... i.e. resprayed Sept '06 when pics clearly show new paint in January '05. And to take it a step further the seller says it's an all numbers matching 1 owner car, but then says "i am still waiting for the glovebox manuals off the original owner" which would indicate 2 owners at least... Seller also says car had all rust repairs done 14 years ago,and sat in a garage ever since, but then shannons at all ford day valued car at 50,000.00. How could they value it when still sitting in garage ??? Just too many things don't seem to add up here.... Nice rig, and worth a few $$$ definitely, but nothing even close to 50K in my opinion. Yeah , I recon he is just someoen who is trying to cash in on the muscle car resurgence of late ! Tart up any old Ford throw in the od name here or there or the "GT" some other places in the hope someone will be enticed to pay extreme prices ! I suppose if someone is happy to pay up then alls good ! just that person wont be me , so I'm happy !

Yes the JGS was only a povo pack 302 with a few GS rally pack items for looks, but they are still highly sort. Not every ones cup of tea but fall into the category of 'limited' and compare to superbirds XA and Cobra XC. It may be aiming high but I think it will sell no probs. They were blue or green and the Blue is an amazing looking combo with the white interior. Older sold example here
http://www.australianmusclecarsales.com.au/muscle/82374 Agree though. Throwing in 'Horn' 'GT' or what ever around as there can be a $10,000 - $50,000 plus difference just on a few truths these days! | [/url] |

If the resto was done properly, the car would be a cheap buy at that price.
Ask anyone who has done a proper professional quality resto recently how much they cost. At Grand Tourer a half decent full job type resto will easily kill 100k of your hard earned cash. Dosn't matter if it's a GT or a Falcon 500, they all cost tunns to do right. As I said, if this was done properly, then it's well worth 35k. IMHO. |

I don't think it is a top class resto,I mean look at all the overspray in the arches etc.

Really, it's worth $5 -$6K as an unfinished project. It's got one of those full roof 70s rag tops, YUCK. Doesn't say it even has any go faster bits.I think they came stanard with a 2 barrel Stromberg? (I know you could option a 600VS Holley from McLeod, you would need to see the original receipt)

as far as shannons insuring it for 50k, he's probably just got a 'build-up' restoration policy for it with an agreed value of 50k. that doent mean its worth 50k.

Car is not insured with Shannons, and Shannons have not even sighted car to value it.
Sellers words in reply to one of my enquiries : spoke to shannons at all ford day 06,they are insuring standard gossies for 40k,and because the car is a fully optioned mcleod ford horn car,the ex display car they said its worth every cent of 50k,ie rare combination, john goss /horn car My further reply to him was : Shannons quote to you makes some sense for a complete running car in top condition. Correct me if wrong but yours is not running and needs quite a few bits to get back to original ??? To which he again replied : car was turned over once a month over the 14 years off the road , and it had no probs but would need a basic freshen up Seller seems like a nice enough guy, but just a little out of touch with reality. |

I reckon the HUGE hole in the roof would make it worth LESS, or am I out of touch with reality? I say $6K MAX.
