Hey guys I'm in Perth and contemplating about buying a 2nd hand fpv from a Ford Dealership. They are willing to pay for the transport of car to me - I haven't done this before so are there any issues I need to consider. Your help will be most useful. Ta

The only thing I would make sure of would be before pics, so incase there is any damage to the car on the way.
Other than that I cant see a Ford Dealership doing a dodgey with transport. Also make sure it has all the options that they listed.

Why dont you ask a forum member to have a look at the car for you before you do a deal? You might compensate them with a carton. Just a thought.

As above or spend the $$ and have NRMA (or whoever) inspect it before you cough up any $$. What is it and where is it?

If the car is in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, I might be able to take a look at it and send you some hi res pics.

Make sure that WA will accept a NSW disposal form as well. Otherwise you will end up paying extra costs when you register it in WA.

Seller to pay for transport? Why would they? Unless its a horrible colour they can't shift. Sounds like one of the MANY SCAMS.

Its a BF Tornado - its from a reputable Ford dealer (I hope) - however when I say they're sending it over for "free" one would assume it will be on their 50K asking price. Has anyone bought a car from another state/dealer. I'm just a bit worried about the "dodgy" factor.

I've bought 3 cars (incl the GT-P & a Pursuit) unseen. All via carsales.com and had suitable inspections done prior to purchase. All have been above expectations as I make it very clear to the buyer that if the car is anything less than described I will return it via their front window. Making it clear you won't accept b/s tends to make sellers very, very thorough in their descriptions. Pays to speak directly to the inspectors too.

Get it inspected as suggested.
Any reputable car transporter will do a complete and thorough inspection of the car, inside and out. They draw any scratches, dents or rust etc that is visible. Also, most companies have compulsary insurance in their shipping price. I rang 8 companies before deciding on Speedy Car Carriers to get the car up from Melbourne to Brisbane. They were the second cheapest, they could pick it up first and it took only 2 days to get here. Im about to ship another car from Melbourne up here and ill use them again. I had Nick ( Falcon Coupe ) inspect my coupe for me. I was glad to find someone that knew what they were looking at. Im sure someone on the forums would take a look for you. Hope this helps.
