Default Rear window venetians for a wagon

Hi All,

I've been doing a bit of searching around, but haven't come up with much so far.

I'm looking for some rear window venetians (internal) for my wagon. I'm after them for the back and side windows of the boot as we often carry alot of stuff which needs to be protected from the sun.

I have found some on ebay, but they are about $400 all up. Does anyone know where else these can be found, and if this is a reasonable price or not?

Thanks,

Justin.

Looks are subjective, but I do agree :nutsycuck They are an absolute disgrace! The car's a lost cause though anyway - a gold wagon with roofracks and towbar permanently on lol!

While they are horrible, and we are getting the windows tinted soon, we often carry alot of stuff in the boot that needs to be protected from the sun, and this is the only way I can think of after tinting to block out the heat from the boot. (The load is almost always above the cargo blind).

What's wrong with using a picnic blanket to cover the load? I have one that's tartan material on one side, and silver tarp like material on the other - perfect for reflecting those harmful rays, plus fully portable and it won't look tacky. It was around $10 from supercheap, or Crazy clarke's or somewhere like that.

How about the window shade stuff that is basically perforated vinyl that sticks to the inside of the glass . It's not stuck with glue or gum but seems to stick with static electricity or something not unlike the vinyl L and P plates you see on the inside of windscreens.

Thanks, they're the exact ones I was looking at, but I just can't justify $400.

I'm very much liking JC's suggestion of a picnic blanket! $10 is much more my style!

Definitely agree with you there Col! While I love venetians on old school cars, they really don't look right on anything from the early 80's on.

I'm liking the sound of the picnic rug, at least it doesn't look ugly all the time!

Another thought that just occurred is that when we get the tinted windows done, we could maybe get the rear windows tinted darker than the rest of the car, maybe that would help as well with the heat in the rear.

Not a bad idea either, but then there's the issue of not being able to see!

I once had hippy curtains on a VW Kombi, and they were such a PITA!
