Default Power Steering Racks

hey guys been a long time off these forums for a while the ef has become low priority for the time being due to work etc..
One quick question are ef and ed steering racks the same???

NO not really.

Yes they bolt up the same spot, so they do fit, but the intermediate shaft is smaller splined so you have to use an EF/EL one, but that means using an EF/EL steering column as well and an EF/EL steering wheel.

Thats what I put in my car.

just out of curiosity,,which rack is a good replacement for an Ea ?

iv noticed a few people change there steering racks over, which the cruise buttons for the ef/ls and airbags can they be connected up easy too?

Yes it is not hard, you need to change the little resistors in the buttons for them to send correct signals, and all works well.
