Hi Guys,
I'd like to know if my AU-III LPG Wagon have IRS? Also, I am wondering if someone could confirm that my station wagon's brakes are front discs and rear drums? I looked under the car and I could only see discs at the front. Cheers, |

No Falcon wagon was ever made with IRS.. even the BA/BF has leaf springs and live axle.
All AU models had front and rear discs. In fact this has been the case since about 1987 when the XF went to discs front and rear.

Your confusion is the rear discs have a small drum brake inside them. This is for the hand brake, and causes no end of trouble.

Hi Guys,
Thanx for clearing that up. I went under the car to double check and indeed, the rear brakes are discs. I was a little confused because our previous 89 Falcon S had discs all round and there I was thinking to myself "why did they change to drum.." but it's all clear now Cheers, |
