Default White box under stereo - what is it???

People

I have an EF ford sedan and under where the stereo goes is a white box with a wireing harness going to it - plug connection. What the hec is it. No writing on it, about 6cm long and 4cm wide and about 1.5cm in thickness. Absolutly nothing written on it and the car starts and rund fine if I unplug the device.

You need to take the stereo out to see the this small box.
