Give the car a cut and polish first.

Then get the paint to match that.

thanks for your help guys, im going to try cut and polish this wkend. i dont want them to write off my car as yes its proabably got less market value than a paint job, but i just want it to match and there has been a lot of memories within that car and i'm sure as most of u on here know,. it just wouldnt be the same replacing her :(

Look mate, im not going to flog a dead horse here, but by the tone of your posts, you have a certain attraction to the car and obviously take pride in it.
That being said, surely at some stage prior to the damage being done, you would have considered respraying it, if it was off color.

I would of looked at it this way, i have a nice car that i like, i care for its presentation (going by how the current mismatch has effected you), and now im lucky that i dont have to pay for the whole car to be painted, cos the bonnet looks great, thanks to the insurance company.
So you save $200 off what you would have paid to respray the car.

yeah thanks bent 8, you are correct i was wanting a total respray but have to save these holidays, i was merely asking if anything could be done to further my position as i still think it is the wrong idea of compensation. being a legal type person i just feel as if justice was not met.. but i suppose now a lot of ppl are going to tell me that it never is...
