Default Billy Joel concert Melbourne

I was lucky enough to go to the 1st Billy Joel concert in Melbourne last night, what a blast! A great repotoire of his songs including the early stuff from 1970's up to tracks from his River of Dreams album. No support act, no interval just the artist himself for just over 2 hours.
Brilliant!
cheers
Bill.

Did he sing "it's still rock 'n roll to me"? That was my favourite song when I was 12 and it still sounds good to me.

He did and it kicked ****!!! The guitar was amped up nice and sounded really chunky, not underdone like the studio version.

A great concert and a fantastic showman, if anyone is thinking about going DO IT!!! He's worth every cent.

Thank heavens for Billy Joel concerts. The biggest jerk in the office went last night and is away today. I don't have to put up with his beer breath and laughing at his own "jokes" all day, yipee! What's chainsaw? Never heard of them? I have been a Billy Joel fan since Glass Houses came out. I like to remember him as he WAS.

Ha - glad there was some benefit to the guy you work with going to the concert.

I'd never seen him live before so I don't know if he's as good as he 'was' - but I've seen a few concerts in my time and that was one of the best. The only song I wasn't a real fan of on the night was 'Big Shot'. I don't know if you've seen that 12 Gardens live footage of him doing it, but if you have you'll probably know what I mean.

Chainsaw is one of his roadies who does a song about half way thru the night. See pic:

Lol, I thought Chainsaw was name of the support act, but then I remembered the guy at work saying there was no support act.
