Default Car Transport from NSW to Perth

Hey guys

I've searched high and low for a thread on this but i couldnt find one so I hope it isnt a re-post:Reverend:

I'm currently evaluating Whether to Buy my Car in WA or NSW. Stamp Duty is cheaper in NSW by 50% and then I just have to consider Transport. And then ripper deal i get a New Focus Zetec for if I purchase back home in NSW.
The clincher will be transporting the car. I was wondering if anyone knew of companies that do Interstate shipping of Cars..I tried googling but to no avail .
Any info would be great

Cheers

Chris.

SO your sending a car from syd to perth, it's about 5 times more expensive than coming back from wa to nsw.

Toll/TNT will ship car's but over a long haul like that i'd hate to think what they would charge. We send about 3o loads a week (General freight) to w.a but shipping a brand new car would be at your own risk and i'd doubt they'd be intrested, although we bring them back all the time. You'd need to pay for about 8 pallet spaces, so probally around $18oo.

you'd be registering it in NSW first, then paying stamp duty etc all over again here in WA??unless you were keeping NSW rego?? then perhaps its worth it.i paid about $1200 to get my mustang from out of adelaide to perth if that helps, ring the transport companies, they'll give you a quote over the phone

Time Constraints.. It would be fun but I would rather spend the 2 weeks i have on leave with my family than driving across Australia

Bucket I just bought a TS50 in Sydney and shipped it over, look up moving cars on the net, they ship through TNT but are about $150 cheaper. It cost me almost $1100 and took 5 weeks to get here, they truck to Adelaide and then on the train to Perth, not what they told me would happen and the car ended up with chips on the bonnet but give them there dues, it was fixed within a week at a panel beater I went to!! hope this helps. yep 2 weeks getting back, thats alot of toilet stops and road house cheese sausages!
my car also had minor damage from TNT,namely the brand new (literally brand new) battery and coil had been killed from the ignition being on.
it was driven on the truck that picked it up and was pushed off saying it wouldnt start. you'll save a few bucks if you deliver and pick up from depot, i went door to door as the car was unlicenced

I'm actually in the same situation right now, but I'm considering flying over east and driving back. Seems to be a lot more reasonably priced XR8's in Vic than Perth...

I had a car transported back from Sydney some years back. Finemores and Alltrans come to mind, but can't quite remember.
If I was doing the same thing these days, I'd be driving it back. You can do it in less than 2 days, with enough food stops.
I know a friend who shipped a car and parts from Melb to Perth about a year ago, in a container, and the damage to the car was unbelievably bad....... So my advice, drive it back, and save on worries!

Have you thought of shiping companies??
It cost me $1200 to bring my WRX from N.Z..
It actually went from Tauranga, Christchurch,Dunedin, Melbourn,Adelade, Perth then back to Sydney..They go way underneath there's no issues with sea spray...
