Default new VE ute ad - inspiring ?

Why does Holden have a so much better marketing department than ford.
The new evolution ute ad looks pretty bloody good compared to the "beer fountain" ad that the FEMALE in charge of ford has put out after taking the old "magnet" add off the market.
IMHO it will sell alot of cars.
Ford need another special edition ute - What about a Stoner Special XR ?

That ad and most of the other holden ads go a long way as to why they sell a lot more cars than Ford.

One day, Fords marketing department might get of there backsides and come up with something really original and inspiring to make people want to buy a ford.

But I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.

Wow that was awesome.

Probably the best add I've ever seen from Holden.

Loved the car morphing.

Ford invented the ute, they better throw that into their adverts.

Absolute top ad, but I still don't like the look of the VE utes. Especially the tail end.

After watching them both back to back a couple of more times - I'M ANGRY
Holden ute ad is so much better than the lollypop (50's style & female voiceover) ad
It "stirs the loins" is, I believe an appropriate way to put it
In a "wins on Sundays, sells on Mondays" maybe a "888"
(already sounds horny) special ute - get with the times - 2007

Surely Ford dont need to bring out a special edition ute to combat the Holden Ad, how about just a good ad from Ford full stop! GM's marketing dept must have a lot more cash at thier disposal though

Great add, but as said, hardly original idea. BMW and ford did it, although the ford attempt was lame. Only difference with this to the BMW, is everything transforms. Buildings as well.

Those old holdens were great examples.

Im not surprised. A female marketing a ute is like a male marketing lipstick. Seriously between the VE ute and the Current BF XR8 ute there isn that much in it price and build wise (have to take a test drive though ) so marketing will swing the sales.

I reckon its a great ad and i hope Ford will take notice.

I saw that ad on TV and I was impressed. I've always thought how good would it be if Ford had an ad showing the evolution of the Falcon from 1960 to now.

Meh, didn't inspire me. Typically Holden add's are pretty special, I was envious of their "Thunderstruck" add. Fords best add and probably the best car add was actually the Caltex add with Ingall & the flies. Ford could tap into the emotions that add and music generated. It was cool.

Just watched the youtube clip of the VE Ute.
That's some pretty good watching.

Whoever conceived the idea should be pretty happy with themselves. I'm particuarly surprised with the way they changed the transition of the models. The morph from the FJ to the HR was done with el-cheapo still photography with the transitions slowly getting more modern until the VE changes with fluid precision.

Holden appear to have a good product, and they're doing a damn fine job of selling it. And petrol is still a bucktherty a litre.

Well done.

All the advertising companies are probably Holden biased too then. Conspiracy!

When I posted a thread about the "beer fountain" ad, everyone had a go at me for not liking it. What more can I say.

The new Holden one is fantastic.

The only ford ad that come's close that was the GT one from a couple of years ago with the XY morphing into a BA at mt panorama, that was a brilliant ad that unfortualy we barely got to se and havnt seen anything like it since, like many have said ford realy need to get there s#%t together when it comes to advertising.

They do have put out some crap, but have also had some decent ones. I always liked this Bathurst 2006 win advertisment, The Fairmont one and also the "must be stuck in third" ad as well as the one where that pole gets an erection over the GT-P and looses it when it sees the HSV (more FPV though). There are more, just cant remember em. I guess, FPV did attempt a morphing type add with the GT, not as good special effects wise as Holdens Click

I wish they would really, really look into marketing ther products better, or offer more of an variety and places to buy, shirts, clocks ashtrays...etc send someone to the states and have a look at there marketing techniques and try to emulate them back here.
