Default Auto power windows up on factory remotes

I have made a commitment to finding out if we can make power windows go up automatically via remote controlls.I will be starting with the au then moving on to the ba/f range of cars and will be posting results /availability as we go along.
I have decided to go ahead with this due to the overwhelming amount of forum members who have requested this feature to a factory remote control.

Fantastic news guys, that will be a sweet feature, no longer have to worry about doing it myself, will the conversion be able to be transferred to xt's? i imagine it would be, as its similar to utes?

From what I understand this is doable, the only problem is you can't set it up so the windows winde up only when you use the remote to lock the car. What this means is when driving with the windows down and your elbow comes to rest on the interior lock, the windows wind up.

I would think it would be doable by conecting in the same manner as an alarm does - my alarm does not engage when I elbow the door lock ;-)

Couldn't you just program a micro-controller (PICAXE would do it nice and easy for people with limited experience, and if you have the skill to make up your own circuit to do this project, the programming hardware is simple - with only a couple of resistors needed) to monitor the indicator and lock wires.
Have a fail-safe so it monitors the ignition, so just incase you end up locking the door whilst turning a corner, you don't accidentally trigger it.

Like vw's when you hold the lock the windows go up, and unlock windows go down. Good for hot days just wind the window down before you get in.

Guys I will set an ultimatum and draw circuits up very soon. Business has been very busy. 5AM starts and volume of work has set back a few projects as I get through core business. Sorry for delay.I will give an answer by the 15th.

It can be hooked up to the remote. So close but stuck on one issue. Have been thinking how to get around it for a fair while now..still the mind keeps ticking ..

I can make the window closer close the windows when we hit the remote controls. The issue I am overcoming is that we dont want it activated by common triggers when inside the car.I will find a solution.

How are you going with it? I worked out a circuit to do it but the car I was making it for is getting sold, so I am not going ahead with it.
An easy work around to that issue you are having, is make the unit non functional, whilst the accessories are on?

I know.I have worked that one out.Problems in the circuit occur say if you are getting fuel and it triggers .Once this is sorted it will be a goer.

stav,

would it not just be just as easy to do it the same method as the factory and most aftermarket sunroofs in the car?

my sunroof closes when i turn off the car... unless i press a button to override it.

could this same method be done rather then using the sock remotes?

It is very easy to do like that. The problem is safety. You dont want the windows closing with kids in the car and not clear of the windows.Sunroof is a bit different.

Hi, Its easy to stop windows winding up when you lean on the button...just earth the module to an ignition wire with a diode to stop 12volts going back into the module when the key is on. This trick even works on holdens. Even more tricks up my sleeve with my ba, a small changeover relay trigered from the gray/yellow wire stops the pulse from the locking trigering the module, locking the car when the windows are active means the windows stay where they are (up, down or half way) but deactivates the window switch so locking the car again winds up the windows. cheers md
