2017 Ford Everest range updates offers new entry-level model and content upgrades
The 2017 Ford Everest range has been extended to include a new Ambiente RWD model, with five-seats as standard and a tantalising MLP of $47,9903 to deliver greater consumer choice across a wide range of Everest models
Everest Ambiente models gain as standard SYNC® 3 including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto1 compatibility and an 8.0-inch colour touch-screen with reversing camera, dual zone climate control, upgraded 10-speaker audio system and driver instrument cluster with dual 4.2-inch LCD display

MELBOURNE, April 12, 2017 – The revised 2017 Ford Everest range offers even greater choice with the exciting addition of the five-seat Everest Ambiente RWD to give Australians a broader suite of models to suit their lifestyles. The expansion of the Everest line-up allows a lower starting MLP of $47,9903 as customer demand for SUVs continues to grow.

The Everest is now available with five-seats, seven-seats, RWD and 4WD for a line-up that reflects the growing diverse tastes and needs of Australians.
2017: The Year of the SUV
Consumers are spoiled for choice in 2017, with the Everest Ambiente RWD Ford’s second significant SUV release of 2017. The new Ford Escape was officially launched in February 2017 with a broader model line-up to deliver greater choice to consumers, while later in 2017 the Ford EcoSport will be updated to better accommodate Australian tastes and more sophisticated demands.
Australians are now buying more SUVs than conventional passenger cars, fulfilling industry forecasts and analyst predictions. In February 2017, SUVs out-sold conventional passenger cars for the first time in history, with this achievement repeated in March. At the end of March 2017, Australians purchased 111,108 SUVs, up 2.5 percent year-on-year, compared to 108,632 traditional sedans, hatches and wagons, which are down 8.3 percent against 2016.
Everest Ambiente with five-seats: More standard features, more choice The 2017 Everest Ambiente RWD five-seater starts at an MLP of $47,9904 with the option of a third row seat for only $1,000. The exterior of the entry-level RWD model matches the rugged looks of the Ambiente 4WD, with all Everest Ambientes coming standard with stylish running boards for 2017, reflecting an image of capability.
With a five-star ANCAP safety rating, the Everest Ambiente RWD comes equipped with Dynamic Stability Control as well as Traction Control and Roll-over Mitigation. This is in addition to the full complement of air-bags, which see driver, front passenger air-bags as well as side-front air-bags, driver’s knee air-bag and full-length curtain air-bags.
The Everest Ambiente has the space to carry the whole family, as well as their luggage, whether in standard five-seat or optional seven-seat configuration. As standard is a substantial 1050L of cargo space behind the Everest Ambiente’s second row 60:40 split-fold seat, as well as second-row air-conditioning and heater controls on the rear of the centre console for second-row passengers. When fitted with the optional third row seat, the Everest Ambiente also offers five child-seat anchor points, with two ISOFIX anchor points in the second row.
With Everest Ambiente’s Active Noise Cancellation system and upgraded 10-speaker audio, family sing-alongs are all the more enjoyable, ensuring even second-row passengers are on-song with music via SYNC® using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. With its 8.0-inch full colour touch-screen, SYNC® 3 also provides a full-colour reversing camera to make parking easier by providing crisp vision rearwards. Follow-me Home lighting helps ensure a safe passage at night time when exiting the Everest Ambiente.
The Everest Ambiente benefits from the line-up’s high driving position, allowing an elevated view of the road and terrain ahead compared to conventional passenger vehicles. A six-way adjustable driving seat also helps set the optimal driving position. Sharing the Everest 4WD’s locally-engineered chassis, the Everest Ambiente RWD also benefits from the 225mm ground clearance and generous departure angles of the Everest 4WD, making light work of steep driveways and suburban pot-holes encountered on the school run. It also uses the same all-terrain tyres as Everest 4WD models.
In addition, the Everest Ambiente RWD offers the same 3,000kg braked towing capability as the Everest 4WD to enable consumers the full benefits of Everest’s strong torque. Proving it’s tow-ready, Ambiente comes with Trailer Pre-wiring as standard, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of fitting an after-market system post-sale, and is covered by Ford’s New Car Warranty. Trailer Sway Control is also standard, helping reduce hazards and alleviate driver stress for safer towing.
Everest Trend: Award-winning capability
The 2017 Everest Trend comes standard with seven-seats, 18-inch alloy wheels and higher equipment levels. Sat-nav with Traffic Management Channel10 previously an option, is now standard as part of the Trend’s SYNC® 3 infotainment system, with the same 8.0-inch touch-screen also providing a crisp, full-colour reversing camera as the Ambiente.
This joins Driver Assist Technology that includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Collision Alert (FCA). This system reduces the driver’s workload in traffic and changeable conditions by helping to maintain a safe distance to the vehicle in front, thereby helping to keep a greater safety cushion in the event of an emergency. This may help prevent an accident, reduce the severity in the event of a collision or reduce injury and costs, as well as keep the Everest on the road instead of being repaired.
Trend also features Lane Keeping System as standard to help ensure the vehicle remains in the centre of the lane. If the vehicle starts to drift from the centre, the system can help guide the vehicle back through gentle steering torque. If further drifting is sensed, the system is designed to emit a warning vibration through the steering wheel to alert the driver.
Automatic high-beam control also enables the driver to focus on the road ahead, and reduces the possibility of dazzling oncoming traffic by switching to low-beam using the Everest’s advanced sensor systems. Dual-zone climate control enables greater levels of comfort, with its second-row air vents and adjustability.
For Everest Trend, convenience doesn’t end when the drive does. A Power Tailgate is standard, operated via the key fob or a simple dash-mounted switch, enabling hands-free operation when your hands are full.
A premium SUV with sophisticated Driver Assistance Technology
The flagship Titanium is packed with premium features, 4WD and room for seven occupants, with convenient electrically-folding third-row seating and powered panoramic sunroof. There’s also eight-way power driver and front passenger seats with leather accents complemented by leather trimmed steering wheel and gear lever to add to the premium feel.
A high level of Driver Assist Technology is standard on the Titanium. In addition to Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping System, Titanium includes Active Park Assist, which helps take the stress out of parking by using the Everest’s sensors and camera systems to assist with parallel parking.
Blind-Spot Information with Cross-Traffic Alert is designed to warn the driver of vehicles that may be in the driver’s blind-spot, alerting the driver in order to avoid potential collisions. A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is also designed to alert the driver of a puncture, which may help avoid tyre failure and premature tyre wear and further vehicle damage.
The Everest Titanium is distinguishable by its HID headlights to give the driver better vision of the road and surroundings during the night, while LED daytime running lights make the Everest more visible to other road users in both night and day. Stylish polished 20-inch alloy wheels and chromed door handles and side mirrors are also standard on the Titanium to deliver a distinguish look for the flagship Everest.
