Just completed a 9000Km trip through the centre, across to Cairnes and home to Melbourne.
The car never missed a beat, and despite the high average speed (most roads either 130 or 110) returned 6.3 L/100K overall. 2007 MA TDCI |

gotta say....WOW !!!!!
Fantastic economy for high speed cruising, even for a diesel where you expect better than petrol. |

Yes, I'm pretty happy, especially as it was packed to the roof. The better half is the type who insists on a spare kitchen sink, in case I lose the first one!
Computer says we averaged 91Kph. I thought it might be higher, but the interminable road works on the Bruce Hwy must have had an effect. |

So what was that, about 8 tanks of fuel?

I used 595l, on a 9400km trip, so yes that would be around 8.5 fills. But I topped up whenever I spotted cheaper fuel. Prices varied from $1.52, in Tamworth to $2.24 at Uluru, where I was running low, so I put in just enough to get to Alice Springs where it was $1.70.
