Default oil choices

Simple question, im gonna be servicing my falcon soon and at the moment have fully synthetic Nulon in it. The question is, should I put more nulon in it or go with penrite? I don't know much about oil but ive heard a bunch of guys on these forums swear by penrite. Also, is that Castrol "magnitech" or what ever its called any good? It seems a bit gimmiky but im not sure lol. Anyone used it?

I have been using full synthetic Nulon 10w40 in my car with no complaints.

Also, this probably isn't the best section for this thread, it's more of a car cleaning section.

No need to change what you're already using. I would forget about Castrol Magnatec, it's just a marketing gimmick and hear a lot of negativity from anyone who switched to it.

If a mod could move this to the right section it may help the OP get more responses.

I swear by the Nulon full synthetic. Have used Magnatec in the past (admittedly on jap cars) with very good results though. Also shell out the little extra for a good quality oil filter. You'll notice it at next service (especially if you're going the full interval or more between services). I use the Drift brand but K&N and several other companies make good ones too.

Aight, I'll just stick to Nulon
Just wondering why this would come more under car cleaning than car care? lol

I'm also using the nulon . using the recommended viscosity to make the lifters quiet ( 5W30) and although I do use a tiny bit of oil at that viscosity the lifters stoped ticking

In a VCT AU XR6 with 140k on the odo I use 10w 30 with no issues.
Usually Castrol Magnatec but have found the Repco 10w 30 oil at $33 bucks for 5L may be a reasonable buy. In the fine print on the label is states "Blended for Repco by Penrite Oil"
