Default Track day??

I dunno if you guys have ever tried to organise one before but i reakon we should try and get a Euroclub track day, possibly with some other clubs as well.

Our race team often hires our eastern creek or oran park for test/hot lap days so ill look into the possibilty of sharing with them cause they dont need that much track time anyway.

Anyway just thought ide see if people were up for it.....
check out our team www.radical.net.au. The site hasnt been updated for a while but i will soon and ill put up the vid of my ST170 tearing the track up (and getting thrashed by an m5 ).

.....this is a repost of the club forum......

A track day is definatly something id love to do. But we (the club) have been very busy recently so I think we should let things settle for a bit b4 organising something big.

But this is defantly something id like to do

Yeh sounds good but we've got a few race days coming up in the next month or so and im trying to organise the chance for 2 or 3 other foci (plural???) to come along. It wouldnt cost anything cause the tracks already been hired for the day.

Anyway ill get back to u guys on whether its going to be possible or not in a week or two.

Hey Marc,

How you been? Sad to not be in the ST170?!

We have to catch up soon - getting my K&N Apollo sometime soon. Only for sound though, as dyno days have showed it does nothing for performance (probably better when moving and in cool air at night ;))

Anyway, I'm keen - I should be heading out to that thing at Wakefield Park... I think it is called 'speed off the streets'. Hopefully going to get some 172 Alloys too, with cheaper rubber.

Let me know how things pan out!

You won't be disappointed in having the chance to go around Oran Park. I've been around it in various race cars over the years and it NEVER failed to put a smile on my face. Likewise I've been around Wakefield Park in various racecars too! But it's like chalk-and-cheese compared to O.P but still fun.

Also, it'll be a little bit of history for us (Eurofordclub) as the Circuit (according to my sources) is due to close sometime in 2008.

That's not advisable... it'll either get too big or too stupid. Keep it to the smaller cars for a change, that way there won't be any hassles about a mismatch in car power and size. Would be fairer on both, no small cars getting in the way of Falcons and no Falcon drivers trying to overtake small cars around corners...

Yeh guys its gonna be euroford only cause otherwise it gets to complex and we have way faster cars in the track.

Also im only thinking of organising it soon cause its prolly gonna have to be booked 2 or 3 months in advance but not payed for till the day.

Anyway i'm getting the date of the next track day on monday but its prolly gonna be sept 10thish. Unfortunatly i can only get a few cars on the track then cause we have heaps of testing to do....i can def get my car : and simons cause i already said he could. Looking at about 2 more but anyones welcome to come along and check it all out....maybe even grab a chance to get on the track.

Seperate to this i also wanna try and get a Euroclub track day cause i know many other car clubs have them and their always heaps of fun.... :the_finge(also im mates with the guy that does most of the track days at oran park so hes happy to help organise it for free)

shotgun if any1 pulls out. ill be there im sure just down the street from me, what other days are there that you could possibly organise though, cause if you could secure like 2-4 cars for each different test period then it would give more ppl a go. and we can take it in turns.

Yeh we havnt run the cars for ages cause we blew and engine in the AMRS at wakefield (but won all three races with our slower car :evil_laug ) and r getting the cars dry sumped. we should have days more often now but it would be even better if we can organise a EFC track day.

ive been talking to the guy that organises track days for oran park and we can prolly do it for around 200per car, and seeing karting is costing 190 i reakon its a good deal.

they go from about 8 till 5:30. Ive been talking to mike (the guy that organises the days) and he said we should be able to do it but hes gonna check it out and get back to me with a rough price...

as for my track day were still waiting on the dry sump kits from england so could still be a few weeks.... :
