Default Knocking noise front end

Hi Guys,
I have a MA Mondeo that is making a knocking noise only when not accelerating or braking, does not happen when turning. Mechanic has checked it over a few times and cant find the problem. Does anyone here know what I can check to fix?
Thanks in advance!
Nathan

Could be the lower control arm bushes are shot. I had an indeterminate knocking and discovered this problem. Replaced and no knock!!
