Let’s face it. An opportunistic thief wouldn’t have a set of keys, would they?
i thought there was a few cars broken into and wasn't a set of keys taken from the range rover - if so, that would fit the opportunistic street kids theory

An opportunistic ‘hustling’ street kid who used a spare set of keys?

You can’t be serious?

As I said earlier. The Aston's ECU can tell how many keys are programmed to use it and which key was used to start it.

Sooooooo, where’s the mention of the keys being used?

Anyone would think that they were talking about a bloody VK Commodore.

On 10 news tonight a 14 year old boy has been charged with stealing Lara Bingles Aston Martin as well as a string of other "petty" thefts. Including the theft of a set of keys to said AM from a Range Rover parked in Bondi.

Police say the boy found a spare key to the car inside Clarke's 4WD which was parked on the street near their Bondi apartment.

He then allegedly broke into a secure car park underneath the unit and damaged several other cars before taking Bingle's Aston Martin on a joy ride, police said.
Sounds like that kid is a determined little you know what.
Maybe he needs a time out in the big boy's prison........

Most kids who steal cars for joytrides leave them as burnt wrecks in bushland or fill them with dry chemical extingushers. Guess the Bingles got lucky.

i'll put my hand up....

still sounds dodgy.

-2 sets of keys missing

- one set not "remembered"

-14 year old

no one notices some teeny bopper running around in a aston martin

"It is now being held by Coogee police and is reported to have only minor damage."

"While the Aston Martin usually turns heads, it was barely noticed by residents of Iluka Place who said it was locked up, parked perfectly and had hardly a scratch."

and too many more discrepiancies.....

Yeah I agree, Its still fishy.
And we could have gotten away with it if you was'nt for you pesky kids.

Why do police need to still hold the car if its a solved case.

That was my thought too when i saw the news. 5 pages of bullcrap and it turns out a snotty kid is to blame (allegedly).

Love how his family abused the media outside the court, like poor lil Johnny was all innocent and such (apparently has had 35 other convictions for similar offences). And while i'm at it, who said bogan rat tales were still allowed?

Actually that's not quite correct...

Most kids (read about 14 years old) drive them until out of gas then dump them, it's the older kid's who tend to strip and burn....

Did anyone see the size of said "snotty" kid on the news tonight. About 2mtres tall and 100kg. 30cm pigtail and close shaved hair down the sides. Not really your average "snotty kid. His "friends" 3 females outside the court doing the usual yelling abuse at the media. Police say he is known to them as one of the top 5 criminals in the Bondi area.

It still shows that Clarke has more money than brains. He could have had the keys re-programmed so that they wouldn’t start the car, but he didn’t. I hope the insurance company refuse to cover the damage because he was stupid enough to leave a spare set of keys in easy reach and not report them stolen.

Never understood this ..... "Well known underworld figure ... or Known criminal by police ... " If so, why are they not in jail? Same as a bloke they caught breaking in at work. Long story, but when the police caught him I was standing there when they said to him. "Bloody hell Darryl. What have you done now"? Speechless I was.

Hey - I'm self employed and work at least 2 hours every day
Insurance company should wipe any claim - due to contributory negligence. Both Bingle & Clarke are well suited (both air heads).
