Default 1991 Ford Capri Speaker wire

Hi All
My 1991 Ford Capri arrived without a Audio system.
I have recently purchased one to fit in the car.
BUT previous owner or owners have cut the original wires and connected another plug.
So can any one tell me what colour wires positive and negative connect to which speaker.

cheers
kiwimagic.

I'll add it to the Tech Portal doc shortly but the speakers are blue and blue with a white stripe - the striped ones being the negative.

Hi russellw
I hooked up my Iphone using a jack and two wires.

front RHS; Blue with Red Stripe
Blue with Yellow Stripe

Rear RHS: Same as Front RHS

Front LHS: Blue
Blue with White Stripe.

Rear LHS: Same as Front LHS

There are three wires left:

1/. Red with Black Stripe,
Using a multi meter this is earthed.

2/. Black with White Stripe.
As this is the only one left I assume this is power from battery.
I can not check this at the moment as Im in the middle of fitting a push button start/stop unit and have the ignition wires disconnected.

3/. Black with Yellow Stripe.
Using a multi meter this is earthed.

Hi. Wait till you get the battery hooked up and the ignition switch setup sorted out and check those last 3 wires with a test light. One of them will be constant 12 volts for memory, another will be accessory 12 volts so the radio turns on and off with the ignition switch and one will be dial lights. The earth would have been a seperate black wire bolted to the dash framework. Cheers MD
