The Sony unit in my MC Zetec seems to have died. It's not completely dead but theres no sound from any source and the display/function isn't normal. Here's some info on what is/isn't happening.
- The sony display mostly only shows current time, in the top right corner. Its the same when car is off and on. - When I press most buttons there's no change in the display and no action (CD/AUX, RADIO, PHONE, 1,2,3..., ON/OFF). - If press CLOCK I can see the settings and set normally - If I press eject it displays "CD ejecting" and will eject normally. - If I use convers+ screen to select radio station, or CD track etc there's no action. - I cannot connect phone via bluetooth. I thought I could just pull the fuse for the Audio system to reset, but it did nothing. The head unit didn't even loose power. Central fuse box F21. Might disconnect the battery? any tips? cheers Last edited by manchu; 19-03-2017 at 06:10 PM. Reason: clarify |

I just noticed the head unit is still powered on and all button backlights on when the car has been switched off and locked for 1+ hrs. Very weird.

All good again after disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. It seems my head unit was just a bit confused.
The only abnormal thing recently was yesterday when I was driving in my other car in front of my wife in the mondeo. The mondeo Bluetooth had connected to my phone so maybe it couldn't handle the phone constantly going in and out of range. It hadn't worked since then apparently. |
