Hi I have just installed an aftermarket DVD player into my BA falcon but can't get the whistling noise that seems to be caused by an earthing problem to go away. (It whistles louder depending on throttle and RPM's if that helps describing the problem) Do you make something to eliminate this noise as it is rather annoying?
Cheers Toby

As fadi mentioned, either to fit in a noise suppressors/filter. Or another thing is to check the earthing of your aftermarket headunit. Earthing must be the shortest cable to chassis you can get and make sure you have sufficient (bare metal) chassis exposed to the bolt point of your headunit earth cable. Bolting the cable onto painted chassis won't help.
I had the awful whining noise which I fixed up last week. The noise was eliminated using the above procedure which was advised by my workmate. |

Thanks for that guys.. I thought that a better earth would be achieved by earthing as close to the battery as possible to eliminate the resistance of the chassis, which would be higher than some 1.5mm earthing cable

i had mined bolted to the chassis behind the lining of the drivers kick panel with a bolt & star washer. the lead was soldered to the eyelet washer. be sure the power & earth wire are both the same gauge size (for my setup i used 8 gauge wires).
