Default How Much Should I Be Paying?

I Found in a car advertisement a ''98'' EL XR8II 185kw , Auto, Sunroof, Momo steering wheel in very good condition with 112,000 on the clock. What should i be expecting to pay for this particular vehicle?

There was an article in the paper recently about this era in XR6's and it was suggesting 9-10 for those... so 9-10 for the XR8 would be more than fair, assuming it's all working OK and just usual wear and tear. Of course, you'd better really love the idea of having a V8... it'll be a thirsty bugger

Do a redbook valuation but I think the ef/el xr's are still fetching around the 8k to 15k mark.

if you really want to know then pay for the service and use Glass Guide.
otherwise i would suggest using: http://www.drive.com.au/buy/market_value/
which happens to say:
4D SEDAN , 1998 , 4.9 lt, 4 SP AUTOMATIC
Average km's travelled 157,000
Price when new $42150
Estimated Valuations:
$8280-10120 private sale
$8000-9200 trade in value
$12600-15120 dealer price

they really arent as bad on fuel as people would think.....they're equiped with sequential injection, and arent too bad at all...
i seem to hover around the 9-11L/100 on the freeway and can have it around 14L/100 city if im reasonable gentle on it

going O/T for a sec,
my folks AU mont is regularly in the 14l/100 mark........
thats driving it fairly normal

i average around 15 / 16L-100......normal plus spirited driving......if i just drive it like a regular car it drops into the 14's 14.6 - 14.8

when my airflow meter was dirty i was managing a best of 19l/100....mwahaha
