Default computer help

this is probably an easy fix but for the life of me i cant figure it out.
a setting has been changed on the computer so the blue bar at the top of the screen is thinner, the 3 little boxes at the top right corner are smaller (minimize,maximize and close). this is the same for every browser i use. i dont know if its just me but all text appears to be slightly different in locations such as Favorites, desktop and places like that.
any ideas on how to change it back to normal?
thanks.

Right click on your desktop
Select Properties
Go to the "Appearance" tab
Click on the "Advanced" button
Then click on the part that you want to change.

You're probably after the "Active Title Bar" as the item and size 26 would be large.

I think thats what you're after.

well that seems to bring the top blue bar back to size (around 20ish) but it also increases the bottom blue bar as well which was already fine as it was.
anyway to just change the top blue bar?

Bottom bar? You mean the task bar with the Start button?

I'm alittle lost as to what you mean. Theres the title bar which has the red X on the right side. And the only "bottom" bar I have is the Taskbar with the Start button.

Adjusting the title bar size should have no effect on the taskbar.

yes, the TITLE bar has the red X, maximize and minimize the window button. this strip is blue and is thinner than usual. also these buttons are smaller than normal.
the botton bar, which is the TASK bar (with the 'start' button) is just fine and is at normal width.

if i change the title bar back to normal size how it was previously discussed, the task bar also increases in size too making it MASSIVELY oversized.

i need to know how to change the TITLE bar only.
as it sits now, the TITLE bar is about HALF the thickness of the TASK bar.
how do i set it back to defaults?

sorry this is lazy way but make a new user with same privileges andthen log off and log in and voila ur new default desktop then change your settings to suit....

oh make sure u transfer the documents over before deleting and get your internet andother details handy as u may loose them and the list goes on

otherwise if a different user's desktop is fine then write all the setting down under the appearence tab and then make the correct changes to yours its a long shot but will work - there is no default as far a i know sorry i cant help any more

Right Click on Desktop, Properties

Two ways of resetting it;

Click on Themes, choose Windows XP then hit Apply

OR;

Click on Appearance
Find "Windows and Buttons"

Select the other option in the list, hit apply, then select the original (Windows XP Style)

Hit OK and you should be right. You may need to re-apply any wallpapers you had set up

Yes, I do this for a living Technical Support is the life for me ;)

Have you changed your screen resolution?

Open "Display Properties" and click the "Settings" tab

If you just want to enlarge your font and page size, hold down CTRL and tap on + twice, this will give you an easy to read page, to decrease hold CTRL and tap - twice to reduce, this setting will stay on all pages until you close you browser, and then reset.
