I'm just wondering how does it go being a FWD? I have always liked the look of them but strayed away because of the whole FWD thing.

there is torque steer to get used to, but apart from that it all seems fine so far.

Haven't done a spirited drive in it yet, so not sure what the understeer will be like, but only 1 way to find out

In comparison to the barge that is the falcon, this does feel extremely nimble though

I've gotta say, the torque steer is not as apparent as my LR Focus. But then again the xr has trac control and I probably drive it with a little more respect than the old LR

I think its factory tint? it's only a very VERY slight tint.

I think when summer comes around it'll get dark tint done

Congratulations on a great looking car Dave.Hope you enjoy it.

I wouldn't mind one myself, but wouldn't get my barge a*rse into the seat of it.

Your tint looks like legal 35%. If you get it redone DO NOT go anywhere near Solartint at Wetherill Park. :

Yeah the seats are pretty intense. I wouldn't want to be any larger than I am, that's for sure!!!

Thanks for the hint about solartint, you got somewhere you recommend?

Ahhhh....you bought it from my Uncle's Dealership. I actually saw that car out there last week and they told me it had been sold...ha ha ha...small world. Yeah I think that one just has standard factory window tint which is very slight...speak to Brenton at the dealership and tell him you know me (Michael Groom) and he'll put you in touch with Sol-Stop that I used when I bought my LV in March. I ended up with a 15-20% tint, and I love it.

What a great looking car. Doesn't stand out heaps but just enough if you look at it to know it's something special.

Ha ha. I work out at Harvey Norman Penrith just down the road from there. If you're local, come and see me sometime this week if you want. I'll be at work till Monday(day off and should have new Intercooler and Intake to fit that day too so if you wanna hear de-res only, you'll need to come before then. :P) Here at work late tomorrow night after work and late night trading thursday. feel free to come into the computer's section and ask for me, I can spare 10 minutes to take you for a spin. LOL. Otherwise I'm here over the weekend too.

yeah, screen name on fordxr5turbo.com is michael.groom

Me and a few mates usually do runs up to Newport arms for dinner through mc-carrs creek road, or out wisemans and all that.....but I'll be on the run on the 29th August up to Singleton....but I do need to get back to sydney that night for the Swans Match....Mick O'Lachlan's final home game...

Oh and I hardly ever see XR5's around the area... even though it seems to be Sydneys XR5 capital.

Mountune hot up kits may be coming to Australia very shortly . Talks are underway at the moment.
