Default Lamborghini SUV !!!!

The SUV is currently known as the LM00X. It will feature two choices of engines - a supercharged 400hp 4.2 V8 and a supercharged 500hp 5.0 V10. It’s expected that the Lamborghini SUV will debut in 2008, while the Audi Q5 it’s based on will be released in 2007

There have been Lamborghini 4WDs before... They looked like a squashed Hummer and some were 600ish hp V12 powered...

There you go... LM002, 300 built between 86 and 93.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_LM002 Wiki link.

The new one should be interesting, should keep the Cayenne honest.

Consider that Lamborghini is actually a TRACTOR manufacturer first and foremost.

Not sure about this, I think Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen and the tractor maker may be seperate altogether. Just as Saab the plane manufacturer has nothing to do with General Motors (despite marketing BS to the contrary).

Not first and foremost. Lamborghini were building all kinds of things before sports cars, including tractors. Lamborghini tractors and cars now have nothing to do with each other, other than they have the same name.

cos it is? that pic is most likely from a german magazine called 'autobild'. 'car pictures' directly translated. its packed with spy shots, rumour and photochops that they freely admit to. most people just take it as gospel because they dont know about photoshop or the skills some people have with it. $5 says that pic started out as a cayenne or lexus suv and they just grabbed a few bits from the murcielago/gallardo.

Even the wheels look "cartoonish" in that thumbnail.

The founder of Lamborghini was indeed a tractor manufacturer. He drove a ferrari, thought he had some advice for Mr. Ferrari himself. He met Enzo Ferrari, told him what he could do to make his Ferrari's better. Enzo told him to bugger off, that a tractor manufacturer had no right to criticise ferrari's he Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to make his own supercar manufacturer.

So in the end, Ferruccio Lamborghini founded Lamborghini and built the 350GT.

LMA there were 2 mock-ups done of a rally prototype (Dakar?) that looked great.

One of the stock cars came up on a Jap auction site last year, still silly money even after years of depreciation.

I think that the LMA evolved from the Cheetah which was a door-less, mid-engined 4WD that tried to win a US army contract. They used AMC V8’s and were a bit tail-heavy. If you went up a steep rise they could flip front to back.

Yeah, those Lamborghinis were horrible in stunts. You'd give one to the opponent and watch them crash on the jumps...

i saw a story on austar about ferriari the other day. aparently henry ford jr. approched enzo ferrari with ideas also and as told the exact same thing...long story short, GT40 was born and took lemans 24hr 3 yrs running away from ferrari and they havent won it since. me thinks there is a lesson for enzo in this!!!! listen to ideas pal!
BTW i think the early lambo SUV looks like its the bas-tard son of a range rover mated with a hummer...

Yeah but the idea that they gave to ferrari was, "hey it would be a great idea if my company bought your company" ferrari was almost sold to ford but ferrari pulled the pin at the last minute.
Ford was ****ed off so build the GT40 to whip ferrari.
