Default Couriers...

Hi all,

It's taken a few months but I've finally acquired a Turbo Territory bonnet in good condition, now I'm trying to get it from Albury to Ipswich. This is proving to be way more difficult that it used to be.
Pack and Send won't ship bonnets anymore.
TNT want more than I paid for the bonnet to get it here.
Border express are idiots.
E-go or whoever they are made my wallet cry more than TNT...

The issue I'm having aside from big costs, is that it's not already wrapped and boxed.

Anyone got any suggestions? I really don't want to have to pay over $700 for the bonnet to be packed and delivered if possible!

A few years back I got a set of 4 Territory rims from WA to Vic using smartsend. I went with the 'go slow' options as I was in no rush, so paid the lowest fare, but the rims got to my place earlier than was predicted and in good condition. Service was from door to door and very well priced for a trip of that distance. Would definitely use them again based on my small experience.

Not sure how you'd go with a bonnet, tho. Can only but try.

Couldn't find the 'go slow' option, but they were more expensive than TNT and e-go. Unless I'm doing something wrong...

I've given Dawson's a call as they are in the same town and they seem pretty happy to help. Just waiting on a response to an email with the particulars.

Thanks, I'll try land transport as well.

When you work through a quote, and ask for the quote prices, it will give you the option of 5-7 business days, 2 business days or next day. I did the slowest option, but it turned up earlier than estimated.

Also try freight companies local/based in Albury or Ipswich.

Well, I gave up. The problem being that a set of wheels is cheap to send but a bonnet is almost a grand! And most companies flat out said 'we don't do bonnets'. I tried all your suggestions guys (thanks), also tried furniture removalists & wrecking yards.

Thankfully, my fall back is my neighbour who just so happens to build hot rods and show cars and has family in Albury which he is going to see in December. He's happy to pick it up and bring it back in his car trailer (no doubt he'll be bringing a new project back as well).

Note to self, in future don't buy a bonnet...
