Default Difference between XR ECU and Forte

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was any difference between the two? I just got a new BCM and PCM put into my XR, but it feels sluggish now (and the fact that it wont change out of ECON mode)...

Is there any way of telling the difference just by looking at them?

Ok.... Speaking to the Auto Elec who installed the ECUs for me... He did put in a Forte ECU (supposed to be hi level ecu as well)...

This is f#$*ed up.... No matter what happens with this car, I get screwed around. I take it at the moment, I am driving a Forte, with an XR body. Not bloody happy Jan.

This is the reason you cant change your Auto modes, only the XR's had the Adaptive shift and the Forte had the normal switch with ECON and PWR.

Not to mention that it drives like an absolute POS at the moment with this ECU in it. No power at all... Can't even pull away from stock lancers (infact, they pull away from me)

also depends if it is a vct xr6, because the vct won't be working either, as well as different shift point and fuel maps

Yes it is a VCT XR. It's very obvious that it is a wrong ecu. Considering the auto elec said they were putting the forte one in just to see if they even needed to get the XR one for me....

Aaarrrrgh.... So bloody frustrated. I just want my car back to the way it should be, so we can enjoy it and have some fun with it again. I appreciate everyone's support and replies
