Smile EFI 6 Cortina

Hello,
Just wondering whether anyone has put a SOHC Falcon I6 into a Cortina. If so, what are the problems one is faced with. It appears that an EB I6 will fit in, anyone know otherwise? Also, a T5 behind it, any dramas there?, thanks.

i have an el 6 in my tf cortina and i encounted a few problems. first the engine mounts had 2 be made up i had a mate who is a steel fabricator so i guess any of em could do it. the box should mount up but im not a 100per cent of that. the original radiator couldnt cool fast enough so i went vs commadore aluminium with au2 thermos. but i have piping going everywhere cause the inlet and outlet where on top when it should be on the bottom and the other way round on the other side. and i went vl turbo fuel pump. the fire wall had 2 b bashed a bit to make room for the exhaust.

Thumbs up Efi

I was told that the later model SOHC engines had different engine mounts, round apparently. The engine I have is out of an EB, the mounts look exactly the same as a Crossflow engine that was in a Fairlane. Will compare when I actually get a 6 cylinder Cortina. I hope to Turbocharge or Supercharge it once it's in, challenging!

Mate don't bother with a 6 out of an EB they are piles of crap.

Go and find yourself a 302 Cleveland and a C6 box bolt that in to the Cortina Its not as hard as you might think and that cetainly have a lot more go then a supercharged 3.9ltr SOHC Straight Six.
