Default Double or nothing

Is anyone familiar with the double or nothing thingo in relation to suspended drivers?

Last nite i had an unfortunate twist of fate where i was clocked doin 110 in an 80 zone on Roe Hwy (and before any of youz jump, i genuinely thought i was in a 100 zone thinking it was 100 all the way through, but i havent had a chance to go back and see where those 80 signs are yet) and got slugged $350 and 5 demerits, taking to a total of 12 in 3 years (bits n pieces here n there really add up....).

The conditions of last night were pretty gay though, it was raining, and at times really hevaily, quite misty on some patches, yet the coppers still used a handheld laser to get me. I was always under the assumption that handhelds couldnt be used in rain...

But i duno, anyhoo some info or comments on these things would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Yep, laser's can 'refract' of objects such as rain droplets etc. I'd deff argue the point of them using the laser in the rain.

I also think that if they move their hand just slightly it could give a miss reading from 1 part of the car to another?? or am I just wrong!!

They have new radars that can penetrate and filter out the rain. All that it cant go through rain has now become an urban myth.

As far as I can work out from talkin to a mate of mine who was a cop is you dont have a leg to stand on, Ive only just got my license back before we drove to brisbane, I spoke to the guys at the licensing centre in west Perth and if you get offered 3 months or 1 point for 12, if you mess up you get 6 months, only way around it is to get a letter from the boss expling you need it to get to work and go to court and appeal to the judge. Good Luck, I took the 3 months, Between the trains busses and my bike Perth was easy to get around.
