Congratulations on your new purchase. I hope you enjoy it. With the new wheels, perhaps get it lowered with sports suspension and pop a high flow air filter in the airbox to match the intake. Once it's all ready for show, post us a pic!

Sparkling Burgundy, the best colour along with Meteorite. I must admit though, it is extremely hard to keep clean.

Looking forward to some pics, I have an SR (2001) as well as a Futura (1999), fine cars.

What alloys are on the car at the mo? The standard SR alloys are 7 spoke 16's not 17's. Is that what's on it? If you've got Tickford 17's though, leave them on and forget the rice! Mmmmmm Tickford 17's!

*wife walks in and slaps husband for dreamingly drooling over alloys!*

Daniel,

Take off the dust covers and that will show more wheel and disk. Looks better IMO. Having said that, mine are still on. Must see to that, will look better and save me a few extra kilos!!

Have a look just behind your rims and you will find a flat black disc which is roughly the same size as one of your rotors. This is a dust cover. Some leave them on & some take them off. It's up to you.
You've got a sparkling burgundy. That will make two coming from crany.
9:30 at G+D..

I must admit GK, i have been meaning to do the same and haven't.

I know I'm not HOTC2R, but you could try this.

Left hand side.
Take the front one off and leave the rear one on. COMPARE!

Right hand side
Take the rear one off and leave the front one on. COMPARE!

What ever you do, the SR will still look good!

Cheers

To be perfectly honest, if you have your original 16" SR rims on which is what came on my wifes 75th Ann. Futura, then leave them on. The original look. I've now put 18" on her car and I left them on because it hides the small standard sized rotors a little. Would love to put bigger rotors and calipers on but too much money for that.
The best thing to do is take one off and stand back and have a look from the side of your car. then you will be able to see the car with one on and one off.

Which high flow filter did you go for and where and how much did you pay? Been looking at K & N lately and been getting quoted some crazy prices.

I haven't been quoted quite that much but anywhere from $150-$185. I'm sure that when I was looking not long ago they were like $120.

I saw the K&N panel filter in some advertising material yesterday for $120ish I think.

*Checks recycling box*

I had to go out to the naturestrip with the dolphin torch to rummage around in the recycling bin! LOL!

Bursons have the filter on special for $120 and the recharge kit for $24.95.

Hope that helps,

Don't forget to put the sliced cucumber pieces on the headlight!

Glad you got the filter!

I also use Magnatec, good oil IMO!

Took the Dust Covers Off , and thinking about using the old intake i took off , might add it on somewhere to improve airflow in the Engine Bay , or something like that ,
