Default PK Ranger V Smartbar

Hi guys. Just putting my experience out there as a warning to others.

I had a Smartbar fitted to my PK Ranger. I would suggest that anyone considering doing the same, think again….
I was shocked when I saw the finished look of my car. I don't mind the look from the front but if you want a half-@&sed job which leaves the side of the bar at the wheel arches looking like it's from a completely different model, go ahead.

The bar they fitted was for a 2010 PK Ranger but in actual fact after you dig deeper, the bar they supply for the PK is actually from the 2006 Courier. The flares from the courier bar don't match the lines of the Ranger (smaller). The Smartbar website (when I ordered the bar) did not show a side view. The only image was a ¾ front view that hid the elephant in the room. Now - of course - they do show a side view. It's white too so the miss-match is less noticeable but how they got the bar to sit so far back on the vehicle, I'll never know. Anyhoo', I ended up getting no satisfaction from the installer or Smartbar themselves. This has been going on for nearly a year. All they need do is redesign the "bolt-on" flare piece and the problem goes away. But have they? Noooo…
The battle rages still.
Watch this space…..

Shame about your fitting problem, probably looks worse in the flesh. I had a Smartbar on a 2001 Courier, it fitted very well. Bounced a couple of small roo's of it with no damage. If I needed another bar a SB would be my first option.
