I recently have noticed a message appearing on the central screen indicating low battery. Also the entertainment system can't be turned on after the engine is stopped. I suspect this is to conserve battery power to start the engine. The other unusual thing is the parking sensor chimes have a different sound now. The battery is the original fitted from new and still cranks the engine just fine. Just in case the battery is failing i am getting a new battery fitted by RACV for $270.
Just interested to hear if anyone has experienced similar symptoms. |

Twice my folks have had a flat battery with no warning, dead as a door nail no lights kind of affair. Never got around to look into it but as it hasn't happened in a long time (12+ mths now) I can only surmise that it was something the folks did or used (dash cam or lack of use short runs) that did it. A new battery was also purchased.

When these batteries fail, it happens quickly - the vehicle needs quite a high voltage for all the computers/systems to work, and if the voltage isn't there - then nothing happens.
It's not like the old days when you could tell the health of the battery by the sound or speed coming from the starter motor. |

Check owner’s manual and verify it’s not telling you the remote battery is flat
Have your battery and charge checked |

Just had new battery installed by RACV. All the before mentioned faults have been rectified.
I noticed the the serviceman connected a small auxiliary power supply before disconnecting the battery terminals which maintained all system settings. With the old battery the starter motor was still cranking the engine satisfactorily but the parking sensor chimes sounded strange and a low battery warning message was appearing on screen. Also the main screen would not function with the engine off. The battery was the original factory fitted from new and was approximately 5 plus years old. |

It will literally tell you that the "remote battery is low", which reminds me, mine told me that the other day. Disaster!!!! An easy job to do......ONCE I find the spare batteries :-/

I also had my battery replaced recently, but I chose to go with an OEM one. My car's symptoms were:
- 'Easy Access' driver's seat won't slide forward after starting the car; - 'Active City Stop' failure; - Parking sensors sound strange; - Passenger side mirror won't auto unfold when unlocking the car. Had almost four years out of the OEM battery. Hopefully this one will last at least as long.
