That's ridiculous, and the car itself is ugly!

Who in their right mind pays that for an e-series when that sorta cash will get you an AU3 XR8 220 or spend a little more and get a BA XR8!

Depends on what e series you are talking about.

Sprints seem to be the bargain at the moment. FBT's are still way over priced.

Sorry, I shoulda said "normal" e-series. I consider Sprints, GT's & FBT's to be worth more than any other e-series.

That is probably one of the last EL XR8 2s and I probably have the first one or very close to it.

I would happily buy this car if i had the cash.

I own a AU and a BA and i swear, the E-Falcons are much better to drive than any of my two. The AU comes close but i would still prefer to be behind the wheel of a E-Falcon.

A very clean looking example indeed

However it hit $11,700 at auction close and didnt reach its reserve

I shudder to think what he actually wants for it!

Good luck indeed - if I could get that I would be rapt too!

I wasn't referring to the AU or BA as a better car, simply comparing ages of vehicles - 12k does buy a decent AU2/3 XR8 these days, and goes most of the way to a BA. To the general car buying public, we all know which 2 cars are worth more.

I must say I'm very surprised by the final sales price, and while I'm not a fan of taht car at all, good luck to him!

E series are a great car and there very reliably and a nice car to drive as well when there nice and tight, but obviously most of them out there have high kms and dont drive as good. But if you compare a high km ford to holden it always seems that the ford come on top.

If i want a good condition E series im prepared to pay top dollar for it if its a good example.

And always with an e-series you read how people have so called updated to an AU or a B-Series and they always regret selling their e-series

I had a couple of E-Series. An EA which I was glad to see float away during the Wollongong floods. And I had an EF which was a fantastic car. Just a futura, but it was a top car. The transmission went on it. Apart from that, the car was extremely reliable. Never had too many drama's with it. The transmission started to die in Melbourne. But it got me back home to Canberra and I covered about 1,200 k's on a dying transmission.

People will pay what they are prepared to pay. The price might be high, but to someone it might be a good buy. It looks clean and I like the color.

Nah they realised their mistake with it and returned to the ED/EF style with the AU.

The scoops between the lights just doesn't suit it.
And the bonnet scoops look nowhere near as good as EF, don't know why they changed them.

I just noticed, $11,700 and reserve not met.

Is the seller on crack along with with everyone bidding on it?
It'd want to be stroked or somethnig for that price.

My mates EF XR8 was $6500 with SVI, excellent nic. I don't understand this.

yea that sprints a bargain. there will always be someone who is willing to pay a seemingly ridiculous amount for a vehicle, its just finding that person when u want to sell.
