Default LS noisy steering at low speed

hi guys, as the title suggests, the steering is quite groany at low speed. mainly carparking, probably when there is extra strain because the car isn't moving forward.

i had a qick look for the reservoir but couldn't see it. i vaguely remember reading that it was in an awkward spot.

does this sound like just a low fluid thing or is there bigger issues at play?

cheers guys.

well, found the reservoir... what a really sensible place to put it??? behind/under the headlight.

plenty of fluid in the reservoir so its not that, unless it needs a flush through?

what else could cause a groaning noise at low speed?

Ford say you do not need to change the fluid (which explains why they are happy to put it well away from any chance you will find it.)

ours used to do that and it was the driveshafts moving in the hubs, ford loctited them in. quiet!
yes and many other euro manufacturers loctite theirs in.
PIA to remove sometimes.

Found something on focaljet. they had creaking noise at low speeds.
they found that it was the swaybar link rods(swaybar to strut) had dried up.

you could try and spay a bit of wd40 into the joints.
