Default And thats the end of that chapter

/End Max Power's voice over

Yeap, another chapter in my car ownership is over, the EL left the driveway tonight; so Im feeling wierd, moreso because I have no fricken car at the moment! Pushie's suck...

So for those who dont know, I went from this EA.

Then went to another EA (I dont know why, it was just there).

And lastly to the Ghia, such a nice car.

So the plan now is to get a ute. I was going old school, but for a daily its probably not the greatest idea, and their owners are difficult.

Im looking at a couple of XH's this weekend. One is stock as a rock, and the other has a couple of mods that I would do anyway. I have some big plans, but wont commit just yet. If you read Street Fords then I want to go down the same track as them.:

So I wont be leaving the e series altogether, ill have one foot in both camps. Thanks for all the help so far guys, its been a blast.

Also if there is anyone in Tassie who wants to meet up for cruises and drags etc then ill be there basically at the start of next month; should be sweet.

Well the kid that brought it lives near Geelong, and the e series and bluepower stickers are still on it.

I can atleast sleep easy knowing that it was spot on, although the stupid key fob was playing up.

Im trying, but time is against me. Came close to getting a XD 302, but the guy was playing games.

If something pops up then yeah, ill have a look, but I am not liking my chances. Id love a tough XD/XE ute.

And dave, one flange mobile between the both of us is enough.

Shame to see it go.
It has the 100% factory look (thanks to subtle lowering and factory styled rims)
if only those rims were available in 18's ;)
on to bigger and better things though!

18's in those would be horn!

Not really moving up just yet, I was tempted to get finance but thought better of it.

The XH will be more of a sideways movement..LOL...although I already have a heap of mod plans..hehe

Thanks again for the comments guys, I wouldn't be suprised if the new guy finds this place sooner or later.

You will hate the XH compared to the EL due to the interior as it is still the old XE XD style, but the outsides still look good.

And where was my pm to sell the LEDS to me GRRRRRRRRRRR

considering he needs a ute, and was initially looking at XD-XE's... he'll be right at home in the XH...

the tail lights were a major selling point for the buyer....he loved em

Since you'll be in Tassie at the start of next month do you want to continue with that plan for a semi-farewell dinner, bbq??? I'm guessing geelong would be the host city... Would anyone from melb be willing to travel down for a mini-meet / farewell bash??
If theres enough interest, i'll help ya get the plans rollin Al.

The interior will be freshened up pretty much straight away, it is pretty povo; Im thinking either some DL LTD seats or maybe even partial EB/ED Ghia leather. Thats if the swap is easy enough. None of my cars have ever really been that standard.

As for the LED's, like Madnc_8 said, the guy was wrapped with them, so taking them off would have been a bit harsh. Although for $6500 you could have had them.

And I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, let alone, a PM from god knows how long ago. :

Im leaving G-Town as of the 24th, so anything before then is fine. Although Im trying to work my butt off before I leave, so anything after 5PM is good. If people are keen then yeah, a little meet will be good.

I haven't actually booked my ticket yet, as I refuse to until I find the next ride, so I can even drive down from Melb if something is organized.

The last meet went down like a lead balloon as its freezing, so perhaps a quiet couple of brews in a pub/pool hall could be the go. There are plenty of people around this area who I have alot of time for.

Ah crap sorry missed that post.

Nice work!

Mine sold to the second person to look at it, first guy that looked was keen but took to long. Mind you I had no interest for about a week then it went nuts! The guy put a deposit down then 8 other people called within two days :(

Alls good, going hunting tomorrow, should be fun.

Yeah I miss it. Its so hard not having a car, it really sucks, so used to being able jump in and just go.

Looked at a few today, didn't really find anything, there is always something wrong with what I am looking at; they look good on the net..LOL

I feel your pain! I've been car-less (I don't think the written off NF in my driveway counts!) for the first time in 10 years for 2.5 months now (or at least when I can't steal my wife's car!) and it's killing me! I must say, I absolutely HATE public transport. I just keep telling myself though that if I hold out a little longer, I can get something better!

Hehe. Yeah but how long do you want to wait, thats the problem.

I drove a XH today, not much chop IMO, and I dont see the added value over the XD. Other than handling, the XD I was/am after is in better condition than any XH I have seen thus far. And to add to it IMO the XD's interior is 100 times better than that XH's.

If you are interested in that, I have a thread in the Clevo V8 section that is interesting.

One more painful month! Then I get to decide whether to get something newer like a BA/BF, go back to an import, or get another EF/EL and do more house reno's - ahhh the joy!
