Default who has had a respray?

i have seen a few members have had thier beloved e-series resprayed. this is one of the jobs i wanna do on the wagon (i'll be taking it to a pro as i have no idea what im doing) and i am just looking for an average cost on what people have spent (if they don't mind disclosing that type of info, feel free to pm me) on stock/factory colour resprays and colour change resprays. any indications would be greatly appreciated!

Mazda 626 - repair rust around rear windscreen & respray area - $200

180 - Despoiler bootlid, respray and blend to quarters - $700

There's a bit of a list of some body work I've had done - hope that gives you an idea. I know it sounds bad, but none of the accidents were our fault and some of the above were covered by insurance).

I have had other stuff done, but just can't remember the rest!

It would be worth it on an XB GT though. For an e-series that is usually worth a few grand it isn't worth it. Why do a $10,000 respray on a $3000 car?

LOL. There's a place a couple of blocks from me that has a few commodores that have had resprays. There's a lime green VL, a pink VR/VS and a purple VR/VS. These are a few blocks away from me. I love cruising past when the owners are outside. They seem to give me a long hard stare when I do.

You certainly do!

Quite a few of the things I had done, were done cheaply knowing I wasn't gonna get a great result. Having said that, the $500 jam job on my kombi was by far my favourite! It was multicoloured and had bings everwhere from slamming sideways into posts during routine paddock bashing.

For $500 the guy got it straight & shiny, and I kept it for about 4 years after that, and it was still looking good!

I quoted an xbgt at 30k a few weeks ago, wouldn't touch one for 10k.

I got quoted $8,000 to do my EF (excl. engine bay). Horizontal panels (bonnet, roof & boot) to be taken back to metal, doors to be massaged & all moulds/rubbers replaced. Definitely on the expensive side but the two workshops i'm considering are known to do some of the best work in Melbourne.
