Default LZ Focus intercooler water.

Hi everyone,

My daughter has a LZ Focus Trend with the 1.5 litre 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine. I want to check the coolant for the intercooler. Can anyone help me please. Or does it have a air to air intercooler?? I think it’s water to air.

Hi,
Looks like the 1.5 Ecoboost uses a water-air intercooler:

It's probably hooked up to this electric water pump:

and as you can see here, the 1.5 ecoboost intercooler radiator only has small water hoses: (no air going through it)

I can't find photo of the reservoir anywhere. Could you try to follow the hoses?
Also, try reading the booklet in the glove box. If it is a separate circuit it should have a reservoir with a filling cap. (Similar to what old Subaru Legacy had).
Cheers,

Yes that set up looks the same. But how do you check the water in that set up. I cannot find a reservoir or the like

I'm only guessing here, but it is unlikely to be a totally separate system. Most likely a branch off the engine cooling circuit
