Bah! That didn't work! Oh well, the below is an excerpt from the T-series (T2) manual for ESS.

Selecting ADP sub-modes
  1. Stop the vehicle, apply Park Brake and turn Ignition Off.
  2. Apply Foot Brake and move gear selector to:
    • 1 for Maximum Performance Mode
    • 2 for Maximum Economy Mode
    • 3 for Adaptive Shift Strategy
  3. Turn the ignition On and wait for the air bag warning light to turn off.
  4. Move the selector to "R" and wait for the segment on the cluster to confirm the mode selected:
    PEF - Maximum Performance Mode
    ECO - Maximum Economy Mode
    ADP - Adaptive Shift Strategy
  5. Return gear selector to "P" and start the engine.
  6. Programmed modes will remain unless the EEC is reprogrammed by the above procedure or the vehicle battery power is removed.
Default mode after battery reconnection is ADP.

I leave mine on standard, when i was using the econ, i reckon the above statements on the auto are correct. I think line pressure is also affected to the auto, maybe not, but these autos are pressure sensitive.

Ok so that's how you program the mode for manual transmition and does it work on auto? forgive me for sounding confused there are just so many comments and all the links go nowhere for me so many different reply's on the page

This is only for AU Automatic Transmissions that do not have the POWER/ECON button next to the T Shifter.

On a BA falcon there are three shift modes. Normal, Performance, and Manual. when you put the car on "D" it will drive normal Adaptive Shift. When you push the stick to the left it will go into Performance mode. Its still fully automatic and will shift at a higher rpm and downshifts quicker, then once you push the stick up or down (+/-), it will go into manual.
