Default Hatch: gas struts

Hi guys, Has anyone had to replace the gas strut's in thier LR hatch back. I've only owned mine for a couple of months and when I opened the hatch on an LS focus (friend of mine's) the other day I noticed how weak mine were in comparison. I'm thinking of replacing them but I know of a guy that 're-charges' the gas in them. I just thought I'd put the question out there on this forums and see if anyone else has experienced this and/or had them re-charged...

Thanks
Spazz

Sorry cant help with Sydney but for those in Brissy I needed a couple of stronger struts due to GT wing. The guys at Precision Gas Springs are the ones to see 07 3205 9645 they tested my old ones then made up 2 new ones with more pressure adjusted em on the spot & fitted em $65 thought that would be each but nope for the pair! Very happy with em.
Maybe they know someone in Syd or can ship some down give em a ring.

Have a look at these guys, and see if they can give you a hand.

I lost count in my LR Zetec, I think they got replaced 3 times over 4 or 5 years. Common problem. Ended up just living with it, but probably worth looking aftermarket as the factory ones keep dying.

Oh good... I'm not going crazy :

The mate I mentioned in my first post had a go at opening my hatch and told me to just 'put up with it'. Now that I know some other people have experienced the same issue, I think I will investigate getting an after market set to replace these. So thanks for all the feedback! and I'll keep u all updated on what I end up doing.
