Default XP Wagon help

First time posting so bare with me.

I am building a XP wagon, however I need an engine, gearbox & tailshaft.

I have been getting conflicting info on what engine you can legally use.

Does anyone know what QT rules are now?

thanks

You would be better off asking the rego people in your state
Biggest engine standard in an XP was a 200 CI (3.3 litre)
Any bigger and I think you will find you have to upgrade the brakes to discs on the front

aye - best ring up queensland transport and ask them -

i am pretty sure there is a rule (somewhere) that you can enlarge the engine 10%- to allow for rebuilds etc - which means the ford 221 engine goes in with a nod and wink ( ie 200ci + 10% = 220ci)

as an aside i have a letter from vic roads okaying the 221 in an xp.

as i live in vic , for some obscure reason i rang sth aust transport to enquire what they allow - seems they have a booklet for engine types/sizes that you can install in all sorts of cars- so thinking i could get a copy ,i rang them - the bloke said the book is out of print but looked up his tables and said ' yeah XP and 221 is no probs - just bring it down and we will change the eng number'

so moral is - ring up QT and ask them first

Just recently had my XP wagon registered for the 1st time in over 25years. During rebuild installed a 4.1 from an XE (see wazzas XP wagon thread). When I got RWC, had no probs at all & absolutely nothing said at the RTA either when I got the reg done. The guy doing the RWC was well aware what the engine was, not sure the RTA guy even knew what AN engine was.....
