Default a little help please...a moment of your time

Hi - I'm new to australias ford Escy scene,
although I have owned a handfull of Mk2's and Mk1's back in the UK,
even managed to forrest and stage rally a few. not as quick as the 3 door cosworth, but just as much fun.
All that behind me as I emigrated.

Anyway...I was bored one weekend, so I thought I'd give the "not rotten" aussie versions a try as a hobby.

Now I'm needing advice as to where to get decent spares / performance parts in WA for Mk1 2Dr (69-75) anyone got any good numbers / contacts or even stores that will despatch top this rocky outcrop.

Tony at ERR and Roly at Racetune are the two local lads I know, but any others?

Any info would be gratefully received.
Redders.

in particular I am after Minilites, steel work fabricators that Escorters can trust, paint shops that know what they are doing (recommend anyone>?) steel wings, 4 link rear kit, strut braces, coid over conversions, disc conversion for rear axel and the like,......(not all at once, the wallet would hemmorage!)

help please...

Welcome to the forums redders. There are locally made copies of Minilites available (Performance Superlight, which are also sold in the UK) or you can buy genuine ones if you want to spend more money - good tyre retailers will be able to get these for you. I don't know that there will be many Escort specialists in WA, there is certainly not the full support scene as per the UK in Australia. One place worth a try though is Twin Cam Services in Melbourne.

great, thanks for the info.

unfortunately i agree with the theory that Aus is slim pickings when it comes to good gear readily available. On every corner it seemed that you can buy hot tuned mods for the escort in the UK.

(Feck off back then Pom! - I hear you cry...)

there is good stuff over here, but its hard to find, and quite sheety.

However...
I have been speaking with Tony at E.R.R. (Escort Road and Race, who if he doesnt know it about 'Eskys, it didnt happen)

he can get real good gear relatively quick, so this looks like a life line.

he is on 08 9390 2213.

he does the lot, and quite a nice guy too.

stay safe...
