Default what stall converter in my S1 AU XR8?

hey all.

as this is my first auto car, im not very cluey on stall converters.

what size stall do i have in my xr8?

what is the auto box called?

are there larger stall available for it?

who sells them?

this is what i thought a stall converter was, and please, no harsh attacks:

stall converter allows you to put your foot on the brake and rev to a certain rpm before wanting to break traction or take off.....? right/wrong?

also, what size stall would be good for a supercharged xr8? i know power is good from about 2000 rpm right up to redline..... any suggestions?

thanks all.

1800 rpm iirc

BTR 4 speed

yes

Dominator or any convertor house will sell and make them for you.. Between $450-$650 and about $200 to fit it..

When you make performance modifications, you generally shift the engine's torque curve upward into a higher rpm range. Therefore, you need a converter with a higher stall speed so that you can launch the car in the fat part of the powerband.
So, a higher-stall converter will improve acceleration by allowing the car to launch at an rpm where it is making power.

2500 might be the go.. i know ADXR8 runs a 2500 rpm convertor with the lock up removed..

Be sure to fit a big cooler, the trans oil get alot hotter the higher you go.. Bad for the BTR tranny
