Hope this post don't cause conflicts , but there was an early post
about fairly rare EB's , was pr'bly deleted .'cause the original post was very old.. but it's indeed true About EB Fairmont Ghia's [Quote Ghia] .. In 1992 only 30 V8 Ghia's were produced ,, 28 were Auto , And 2 Manual as per custom order .. i have a certified , and i quote [Certified] letter from Ford about this , but you can ring them , and ask for conformation from their libraries ..they only quote 1992 ,, not eb11 or eb1 I Have on EB11 Dated 12-14/10/92 [AS per dates written on inside of mouldings , back of instruments etc..] Please , no negative comments , as this is for information purposes to those interested .. Cheers... hope this may help , ... |

That's interesting about the dates, the first eb 5.0litre that I drove was a brand new silver fairmont ghia - eb1 in 1991 at was then, Brian Pollack motors in Phillip, A.C.T., from there I ordered my ebxr8 in sept that year, albeit from another dealer in Canberra, but the Ghia's definately did exist.

i believe Ford only Built so many '92 v8 Ghia's regardless of colour. [Black was just an option colour , could be any colour] you are one of the lucky ones that have one ... : |

I really would've thought there's more than 30 EB V8 Ghia's around, I've seen plenty over the years. 30 is a big surprise.

Im sure the person wanting the info appreciates it, but i doubt it makes a difference, would someone buy one of these now just because they are were limited numbers, but not created as a limited edition. toyota avalons are rare too, nobody wanted to buy them either.

Of course people will buy something that is becoming rare, if it was originaly a 'Limited Edition' or not. |

To 99.9% of the motoring public all they see is an old Falcon, we're the only ones who care about it being a Fairmont Ghia V8. There just isn't enough of us who care about these around to keep the value up any more no matter how rare a V8 ghia is. Maybe in many years to come they might become valuable, but not for any time soon.

For each, falcon, fairmont and ghia V8's, there was something around the mark of 400-500 models made for each model. EB I, I and ED's and even into the EF's and EL's. The reason why you see a fair few fairmont ghia V8's getting around, is that alot of people appreciate them and keep them in fairly good condition......so they last. Falcons and Fairmonts on the other hand are fairly rare......you very rarely see them on the road (most likely reason, been abused). As for sales i dont think you would get much back, but who knows they could start to rise in the near future?...

I don't really see them becoming anymore valuable then any other eb ghia 5l.
He's saying in 1992 there was 30 made, nothing about 91 or 93.There are a lot more than 30 eb ghia5l's around, and there is very little difference between the years,no signifigantly different features in the 92 that the 91 or 93 wouldn't have. The Factory manuals may be collectable-ish later. Quote:

Just an update , curiosity got to me ..
I got onto Ford , and and the fellow looked in the Library , and said to me that in the EB Ghia range , there was 95 produced , and that included 3.9 , 4.0 and 5l . but outside the year of '92 , he could not narrow down any 5l Ghia records .. only 1992 v8 ghias were on record , which i find strange .. Ahh well , i'm still content , i have my car 'cause i like it .. and knowing there were only so many produced is a bonus only . I don't really think that they will become rare money wise ... It's a personal like for the car .. Cheers , and hope this can be of helpful .. |

There was a manual V8 Fairmont EB for sale on here a couple of years ago. My mate bought it but sold it soon after.
